      Samsung Electronics today announced the installation of its Outdoor LED Signage XHB Series (P8) at the flagship location of Shinsegae Department Store in Seoul, South Korea. Unveiled during the “2024 Lights Up SEOUL, KOREA” event today, the installation is set to establish Myeongdong Square in Seoul as Korea’s new premier landmark, featuring a stunning media lighting display that illuminates the heart of Seoul’s iconic shopping district.
       
      “Our LED displays present unlimited possibilities for places like Myeongdong to bear new elements of cultural significance,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “This installation gives us an opportunity to showcase in the biggest way possible that our outdoor digital displays are built to engage, built to deliver impactful content, and built to last.”
       
      Located within the Myeongdong Special Tourist Zone Area, Shinsegae Department Store is uniquely positioned as a free outdoor advertising zone that enables creative and expansive installations. Samsung’s massive outdoor LED signage featuring an anamorphic 8K display, wraps around the entire outer wall of the building, measuring 71.8 meters in width and 17.9 meters in height — equivalent in size to three basketball courts.
       

       
      Spanning a total area of 1,285 square meters, the display is designed for resilience in harsh weather, featuring an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance, and UL 48 and UL 746C certifications1 for year-round durability. The installation is engineered for high visibility and vibrant color accuracy, with support for HDR10+ technology to deliver sharp contrast and rich visuals. With a max brightness of 8,000 nits,2 the display ensures exceptional clarity even in direct sunlight. Its high refresh rate of 7,680Hz minimizes flicker and the moiré effect,3 ensuring a stable display that remains visually crisp, even through camera lenses.
       
      Samsung’s track record of success with digital signage spans prominent venues worldwide. In South Korea, Samsung provided the country’s largest ever high-definition LED signage to Coex SM Town, while transformative installations at New York’s Citi Field and Houston’s Minute Maid Park set new standards for in-stadium displays. At Citi Field, Samsung installed the largest scoreboard in professional baseball, featuring over 29,800 square feet of LED screens that immerse fans in the action from every angle. Similarly, at Minute Maid Park, Samsung’s high-definition LED technology redefined the fan experience with massive outdoor displays and a dynamic new main scoreboard, all designed to enhance the excitement of the game.
       

       
      In Myeongdong, the new installation will not only host engaging advertisements and dynamic video content, but also transform into a breathtaking annual Christmas media façade, creating a festive atmosphere for visitors.
       
      “Shinsegae’s media façade, beloved by global customers for the past 10 years, has now been recreated as Shinsegae Square. This transformation paves the way for it to become an iconic landmark of Seoul, making it not only a must-visit attraction but also a central hub for K-culture.       Samsung’s Outdoor LED Signage is renowned for exceptional performance in demanding environments, evidenced by award-winning deployments at iconic venues such as Inglewood, California’s SoFi Stadium, which boasts the world’s largest LED videoboard ever built for sports, and the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, where Samsung installed a 481-foot-long rooftop LED display in the shape of the F1 logo. As Myeongdong evolves into a global tourism destination, Samsung continues to lead with solutions that inspire and engage.

      Hi 
      I have a Samsung professional digital signage display device (TV) where I manually download and install the app through the web app address. Instead, I want the app to auto-update. If I replace the previously installed file with a new one, the device should automatically detect the new version, download, and install it without any manual interaction.

      Samsung Electronics once again proved its leadership in digital signage at InfoComm 2024, North America’s largest audiovisual trade show. This year, InfoComm was held in Las Vegas, Nevada from June 12-14.
       
      One of the biggest at InfoComm, Samsung’s booth drew attention from visitors of all kinds with its nearly 8,800-square-foot presence — as The Wall’s alluring visuals and the Transparent MICRO LED screen, which debuted at CES earlier this year, highlighted the entrance.

      Samsung SmartThings Pro: Businesses of All Kinds Get Better Connectivity and Enhanced Intelligence

      Samsung unveiled SmartThings Pro for the first time — highlighting how a hyper-connected business can transform its operations with new levels of intelligence and device connectivity. Users can access an all-in-one dashboard to manage business operations and storefront systems including Smart Signage, air conditioning systems, appliances and lighting. Features like AI Energy Mode can reduce brightness based on motion, environmental brightness and content analysis.
       
      The user-friendly dashboard provides AI analytics for connected devices, perfect for retail integration to see customer behavior data in stores. Meanwhile, hotels can take advantage of connected devices to enable automatic check-in and check-out, along with automatic lighting in each room based on TV content, to provide a personalized experience for every guest.
       
      SmartThings Pro is easy to implement with existing operations through customizable Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
       
      In addition to showing off solutions like SmartThings Pro, Samsung highlighted products and services that can transform specific industries including education, retail, corporate environments and food and beverage.
       
       
      Education: The Interactive Whiteboard Gets an AI-Powered Upgrade

      The Interactive Whiteboard brings AI to InfoComm as enhancements on the education product help teachers and administrators more efficiently keep their students’ learning flowing. AI analyzes on-screen content as well as voice transcriptions and provided educational materials to generate quizzes for students. It’s also easy to control with voice recognition technology, in partnership with Merlyn Mind.

The easy-to-move, lightweight frame operates at 0.00W1 when showing static images. Full color images are displayed with groundbreaking E Ink Spectra 6 technology, bringing full color options and an advanced color imaging algorithm for enhanced performance.       Recently, Samsung’s Smart Signage QH55C — part of the QxC series — became the first digital signage to be recognized by invidis Green Signage — Hall of Fame.       The installation and setup of signage is a critical step in making the most out of it, and Samsung showed its solutions that ease the burden on integrators and businesses.
       
      Samsung Display Configurator creates a virtual installation simulation to streamline installation planning and facilitate precise customization. Samsung Signage Setup Assistant allows users to calibrate and arrange their displays through a mobile app, automating the process for multiple screens while offering remote device control.

      InfoComm is an exciting time every year. As industry experts filled the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall, they were greeted by a massive 10,000-square-foot Samsung LED wall.       Samsung Electronics announced that its SMART Signage QxC has been honored in the prestigious “Green Signage – Hall of Fame” by invidis, a German digital signage consultancy.
       
      The “Green Signage – Hall of Fame” recognizes sustainable digital signage products from display manufacturers around the world. This year, Samsung’s SMART Signage QxC series — specifically the QH55C model — has been recognized for reducing 168 listed carbon footprint metrics.

      Samsung remains committed to eco-conscious initiatives across the product lifecycle, exemplifying its sustainability efforts with the latest SMART Signage Q series (QHC, QMC and QBC).
       
      These SMART Signage Q series models feature an Eco Sensor feature that adjusts screen brightness based on the surrounding environment, allowing users to manage power consumption more efficiently. Additionally, the rear covers on these models contain 10% post-consumer materials (PCM) to reduce the use of regular plastic during manufacturing.
       
      Apart from this “Hall of Fame” honor, the Q series has achieved several other notable certifications including:
       
      Carbon Footprint certification from TÜV Rheinland – Making the Q series the first signage model to receive this award ENERGY STAR 8.0 certification from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – Recognizing the series’ energy efficiency Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) certification from the Global Electronics Council – Acknowledging the series’ eco-conscious design and manufacturing processes  
      The QH55C model was also featured at the Digital Signage Summit Europe (DSSE) in May 2024 where the latest innovations in digital signage sustainability were showcased.

      Samsung Electronics today announced that it has been named the number one signage manufacturer for the fifteenth consecutive year by market research firm Omdia, once again demonstrating its leadership in the global digital signage market.1
       
      According to Omdia, in 2023 Samsung not only led the global signage market with a 33% market share, but also sold over 2 million units — a record-breaking number for the company.2
       
      “Achieving first place in the global display signage market for 15 consecutive years reflects our commitment to innovation and our ability to adapt to evolving market conditions and the needs of our customers,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “We will continue to provide the highest value to our customers by offering specialized devices, solutions and services that address their diverse needs.”
